120/90-18 Bridgestone Battlax BT46 V-Rated Rear Tire

BT46 for Classic BMW

I have a classic BMW. Ironically it has gotten easier to select tires. There are few choices to fit a 90/90 18 front and a 120/90 18 rear. Fortunately the BT46's are available in those sizes. Also of great fortune is they are the best tires I've had on my motorcycle bar-non. A little short on mileage but superior handling and rain riding. Even if there were dozens of tires that fit, I would choose these.

5.10-17 Shinko SR700 Series Dual Sport Rear Tire

Shinko 700's

Described for use on 2002 KLR650. Used for trip to Labrador on fully loaded motorcycle. Total mileage of trip 4800 mi. Front and rear Shinko 700's. Pavement travel about 4000 of the miles, gravel about 800 miles. Tires gripped well on pavement and on rain soaked roads. Gravel and wet mixed gravel/mud worked well. Estimated mileage life of rear 700, 6-7k mi. Estimated mileage life of front 700, 10k mileage. Tires easy to spoon onto rims and we're not excessively noisy. I have used TKC (best for extended aggressive off road) and IRC (good but very noisy). Conclusion: I will continue to use the Shinko 700's, good price, good mileage, good grip for moderate off road use.
