Dell M6600 Desktop Precision workstation - a desktop replacement
If buying a Precision workstation for CAD type work ensure you go for the Nvidia graphics card. In my opinion Nvidia is the leader for CAD work.
If you are in the market for quality 2D, go for Matrox based in Canada.
I am a fan of ATI but to be honest the two manufacturers above are hard to beat in their market.
Regarding the Prevision mobile workstation M6600;
Cons; It is heavy (4-5kg), the power pack is large and heavy. The native screen display is only 1980 (HD) with a battery life of 1.5 hours. So why would you buy it?
Pros; It replaces a workstation desktop if quality components are (Nvidia graphics, SSD, i7 cpu) added. It is mobile you can carry it. It supports multi high res displays (I had two 2560 x 1600) and I have had a 43" 4K all with perfect results (so the tech was built to last). You can customise it, want a new faster SSD, replace the old one. Want a faster graphics card the same. Try doing that to the latest Macs or high end surface.
