Starts off great and doesn't disappoint.
I am surprised that I did not figure out the ending ahead if time. Some people might. If so they would likely not appreciate reading the latter part of the book only to see an ending that they already saw coming. I loved learning a lot about Ireland's history and I found myself looking up a few things to see if it was fact or fiction. It is not a short book but it is an easy read. I liked it..

As always, the book is better than the movie.
I am a Viggo Mortensen fan and I had already seen the movie. I liked it so I decided to read the book. So glad I did as I found the the book to be better. It is not the actors' fault. It is virtually impossible to portray lots of the dad's thoughts, especially his determination to stay alive and protect his kid. Film is a visual medium. You gotta show it, not tell it. Ideas and thoughts are difficult to show and are better simply read in a book. It is still a good movie but it is a very good book.

These lashes save me so much time. I love them!
