Improved design
Far superior to the older design knob. Surer grip and includes a seal on the spool side to keep the drag dry. It should also help extend the life of the spool bearing by keeping saltwater out.

Not a simple installation.
Product is well packaged and comes complete with hardware for mounting with the standard fender rail or the thinner rail that comes with the accessory backrest. The supports are rather difficult to install as the mounting bolts mount from the inside of the fender, necessitating that you either remove the rear wheel or remove the rear shocks and lower the swing arm to allow room for the mounting bolts. These supports are pricey, but I guess that's expected for a "factory" accessory.

I've purchased Clymer manuals in the past and they're all excellent.
