Cheap and Cool
These Xeon's perform really well. They are quite cheap, burn little heat (80W max) and perform very well.
In NAS application they can sustain around 50 concurrent SMB connections on FreeNAS 11.1 with average load and with out blowing the fans to full speed. My recommendation.

Not Mellanox but IBM card.
I have bought two of these cards. These are not Mellanox but IBM rebranded and custom made for IBM servers. I managed to get cards working by reflashing them back to stock Mellanox firmware. Problem is that title for the ad is not appropriate, it is misleading and looks like Mellanox card, in fact it is IBM branded cards revision A1, oldest one.
Reflashing part is quite tricky, and the A1 revision is the oldest one, A6 being the youngest.
