All drill tips must be ground back from the cutting edge otherwise they rub and not cut, the first drill I used from the set I purchased burnt-out, the brick was only multi stock, I took my Makita sds bit and drilled a hole alongside, no probs, My drills, saw and driver are all Makita and serve me well, this set of masonry drill bits are not up to the normal Makita quality.
