Everything you ever wished
I will use metaphorical language to describe the value of this book. There are many teachers that may teach you elementary math, like adding and substracting numbers, almost any single person could do it. There is not a lot of people who can competently explain logarithmic calculations or trigonometric equations. And it is an absolutely rare finding, and you are lucky if you met one that can teach you vector algebra or quantum physics.
Alike, there is abundance of meditation teachers and yoga instructors that can show to you the right poses, right breathing, and teach relaxation techniques. And this is all they know. But what happens next? How to deepen your meditation to the level where you loose your ego and enter the stream? How to deal with obstacles, and what are the obstacles? How to know you are on the right way? How to know you are entering the Bliss and this is not your imagination?
The author, a English speaking buddist monk in Thailand, went all the way and seems to be very competent in the topic, giving clear and well structured instructions. I am not new in mindfulness meditation, but after reading this book I was able deepen my practice, learned new techniques, and found a lot of inspiration. The book is invaluable, written by real master that knows meditation up to the highest levels.
