More than a burger press
I bought this product years ago I think from Goodwill. It was a burger press and dirt cheap. Recently I pulled it out, read the directions and used it several times. As a press goes it is a great product but it is so much more than that. As a press it is well made, convenient and easy to use as well as mess free. Lay a piece of plastic wrap over the bottom half and place a wad of hamburger on the wrap in the middle of the press. Do not squeeze or form ball or patty. For years I have squeezed and squeezed hamburger meat prior to making patties. It cooks much better not doing that. Once you place the wad of meat in the bottom, fold the plastic wrap loosely over the meat and then use the top of the press to firmly press and form the patty. The patty is now perfectly formed with the press's unique grooves and it is sealed in the plastic wrap - no mess. You can store in frig or freeze. All of this is enough to make this press superior to other presses, but there's more. I can't explain it, but the grooves control the swelling while cooking and the juices stay in the burger producing a juicy, flavorful burger that doesn't swell up into a ball. It's the perfect sized burger and cooks very quickly. It is so good I had to have another to give to my daughter so I shoppped and bought this one.
