Excellent quality, reasonably priced
Oneida Moda is a high quality product in a neutral design that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion and setting. The pieces are designed with heavy weight, high quality, 18/10 stainless. They feel substantial in the hand, and they look handsome on the table. This pattern can sustain heavy use and it almost always draws comments from visitors for dinner. Somehow, a normal meal feels more elegant with high quality flatware and china. Because the design is simple, it doesn't draw unnecessary attention to itself, nor limit its practicality for everyday use. I have been surprisingly pleased with this purchase, and I'm impressed with the pricing for such a high quality product. The set has already been through several large meals and and has survived beautifully, looking as new as when purchased. I do not put flatware in the dishwasher, but I don't see any reason why that would be a problem. By hand washing, they have stayed beautiful. I understand that many people would prefer the ease of the dishwasher, but I really don't mind the extra time to hand wash flatware and dishes...just avoids hard water stains and detergent etching. Again, I'm not sure that would even happen, but I figure it's worth the extra time to hand wash special items.
I looked around for a nice set of flatware for quite some time. I went to several stores and felt the weight and quality of many products, and I'm very pleased that I chose Oneida Moda. I think you'll be pleased if you give it a try. I love having the matching steak knives . . . not too common with other patterns I researched. Oneida seems to have figured a way to make an affordable, high quality product.
