This is an incredible book for any weaver or connoisseur of textiles from Scania/Skåne, Sweden. The Khalili Collection is reputed to be the largest and finest collection of such textiles outside of Sweden. The photographs and text in this "catalogue" are terrific, detailed, and full of insights regarding the cultural context for the production and use of these beautiful weavings.

Anyone who is interested in Norwegian band weaving should purchase this book. It is highly instructive, containing both historical background on the bands and the tools used to weave them, detailed information about the bands in the collection of Vesterheim Museum, and excellent step-by-step directions and drafts for a multitude of traditional bands from the different regions of Norway. The author has thoroughly researched archives in the United States and Norway and studied the techniques for making beautiful bands from teachers in Norway, thereby providing a very informative, well-illustrated book.
