A Bizarre Classic
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Somehow I managed to miss seeing 'Hexan-Witchcraft Through the Ages' for all these years but I'm glad I spent the extra few dollars for the Criterion version to finally view it. This is a truly strange little film - particularly so for the silent era in which it was first produced. The Swedish director did a great job of mixing period artwork and live action recreations of various aspects of the fantastic lore of witches and the brutal realities of the medieval witch hunts. Many of the images presented are startling & creepy even by modern standards. Criterion presents 2 versions of the film - the original (1920's) silent film with title cards and some effective color tinting to the B&W film, and the later 1960's re-release w/ a voice over track and 'hip' musical score. Any film lover of the fantastic cinema should find this very enjoyable!

Tepid erotic sci-fi
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is an episodic (13 segments) light weight sci-fi show with a large dose of gratuitous sex thrown in to keep it moving along - a goal that it doesn’t really achieve. The plot deals with a future time where body parts and even whole people are being cloned and also memories can be implanted - concepts similar to those developed by sci-fi author Philip K. Dick and/or seen in the film Total Recall. The series starts off fairly strongly but the quality of the cast & production values are a bit lacking so interest decreases as the story moves along towards an inconclusive conclusion. A fair amount of nudity is provided in the numerous sex scenes. OK for the price but not exceptional.

Small size for Big Price
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich These are nicely detailed models but are so small that it is hard to appreciate that detail. It should be noted that the images used to advertise these tiny figures I are a digital rendering not typically a photo of the actual model! There is also no info provided w/ the model as to the best type of glue to use to assemble - nor instructions - even a pic of how the completed model should look. Many of the figures noted as 1/35 scale are only about one inch high - so - be sure you have your tweezers & magnifying glass handy. I think these are WAY OVER-PRICED for what you get - just be aware!
