Realistic look, durable, reliable for excellent price
Kato produces great locomotives as durable (some flexible and strong sort of plastic) as detailed (small holes and details of ventilation grills and fans prove that). Sharp painting lines and lettering makes them very realistic.
Smooth action of mechanical part and reliable electrical part create huge advantage over other manufacturers.
I may count few other things like DCC ready, magnetic knuckle couplers, direction lights etc, however everybody may found next pros' by himself very easily.

High quality of moving parts, precise dimensions
Plug-in installation into tram body - easy and fast. The only annoying thing is the chassis fills whole interior of the tram.

Fairly easy to install end enjoy DCC
The decoder is not expensive and is easy to install.
There is a way to change function key to switch on/off the lights (from default F0 to F3 or F5), but it would be better to have more options:
- change function key number to any number
- switch off the lights permanently in case of middle position in consist
- implement smooth lighting up and shutting down the lights
