Lake Tahoe - Grand and Magical Alpine Lake
" Lake Tahoe - A Photo Essay " by Larry Prosor, is an excellent introduction and overview to both the history, and the incredible natural beauty of Lake Tahoe and surrounding area. Author Prosor shares fascinating historical background about the Lake, from it's geology and formation, to the first human inhabitants, and later 'discovery' by white explorers. Prosor details the more recent history of natural resources exploitation, later development as a recreational haven for the well-to-do, and even more recent protection and preservation of this unique and grand alpine lake, through both written word and pictures. This book is filled with fantastic color photographs which share the amazing and magical natural beauty of the lake and it's many moods through the seasons. Many photos detail human activity at the lake in the current era - primarily in the form of diverse recreational activities such as fishing, snow skiing, boating, wind-surfing, and hiking the many famous alpine trails.
