Great kit of a little-known subject!
Great kit of a little known type; the Austrian-built Albatros D.III! One of two kits of the Austrian Albatros D.III (this is a 253 series bird, the other kit is of the 153 series Albatros.) Typical Eduard product with pre-painted photo-etch and a selection of markings for Albatrosen flown by the Austrian aces.
Not a kit for a rank beginner, but anyone with experience of biplane models and p/e parts will get an excellent result from this kit - recommended!

Good Have Been Better....
Kev Darling is a well-known aviation writer with a number of books to his credit. This Crowood Aviation Series title on the Seafire is one of the very few books dedicated to the "Sea Spitfire" but unfortunately it can't be called the best. Whilst very informative and very well illustrated, it is let down by numerous errors both in the text an in the captions to some photos. If one can recognise these issues and be aware of them, then the book is OK, but it is not the last word on the Seafire and whilst I'm pleased to have it my library, I have other Seafire-related books that provide a more complete and accurate account of the different marques and development of this aircraft.

"First Victory" A Revelation!
An excellent book that provides a fascinating and detailed account of British campaigns in Iraq, Syria and Iran during 1941. So much has been written over the years over the campaigns in North Africa from all angles and points of view, yet so little is in print regarding the "mini-wars" fought by the British on less than a shoe-string in the Middle East - yet if the British had lost any or all of these actions, the ability of Great Britain to carry on fighting the Axis powers of Germany and Italy may well have been fatally compromised - a point made over and over again by Robert Lyman, the author of this fascinating book. Each campaign is examined in detail, with the political and military aspects of each being explored in depth - the accounts of the politicking going on between Whitehall, Cairo and New Dheli are amazing - and beggar belief at times.
Highly recommended as an important work on a little-known aspect of Britain's war!
