Solid oak mantle
My new solid oak mantle has the type of fixings that hook on the back but a good knock upwards would send the mantle crashing down, which was a worry, seeing as I have two fully active grand children, so I placed 3 ot these fixed 3 of these brackets against the wall, just sitting on the mantle. Now it can't go anywhere. A big relief for me and the wife.

Professional requirement
I've only had one chance to use these so far and they didn't disappoint. Only time will tell if they hold up well, I hope they do.
