Best comfort, quality, and durability
This is my second purchase of this brand (first is a different style with same pin length). I have a coated German shepherd (extra long double coat; think husky-like). I’ve gone through a lot of pin brushes that just can’t reach the skin, can’t hold up, or irritate the skin. In contrast these Chris Christensen brushes are AWESOME!
My other Chris Christensen 27mm brush (t-shaped) is around 8 years old. None of the pins have sunken into the padding. The pin tips on both brushes are all rounded and very smooth. The 27mm pin length penetrates my dogs coat over most of his body and does significantly better than the 20mm pin length brushes that are more commonly available.
We’ve had several brushing sessions with this new brush and so far it is just as awesome as the older one. Now, with two very different styles, I can change my grip and arm/hand motions when I get tired brushing without changing to a frustrating lesser quality backup brush.
When my coatie lets loose of his old undercoat we have a few weeks of ramped up dethatching sessions longer than our usual sessions. These brushes together make it more comfortable for me and each of them makes my dog comfortable and free of skin irritation and the job a bit easier for both of us.

Very well designed!
The failure of most bobbin-style shuttles is you have to “windmill” thread on them instead of “walking on,” and this adds twist which can cause kinking. The failure of shuttles in general is how long it takes to hand wind the thread on them.
This shuttle’s bobbins are designed so they can be wound on a sewing machine’s bobbin winder! That makes it fast AND no twist is added!
It’s very similar in shape and size to the Clover post-style shuttle, indistinguishable unless you hold them side by side and examine carefully. Like the post-style they have a very sharp and effective pick that works great even with very fine thread like #80 or #100.
Like other Clover tools these are quality shuttles well made and sturdy.
If you want a shuttle that holds more thread, consider Lacis/Sew Mate which is similar quality but a larger post-style. If you want a plastic bobbin-style shuttle, this is the best out there! If you want easy, fast winding there is none better that I’ve found!
Note: Clover post-style shuttles are as well made and do hold more thread than this one but the Lacis Sew Mate shuttles are almost as well made and hold even more thread without reaching clunky proportions.

THE Brioche Book
If you purchase just one book on brioche it should be this one. It is the industry bible on Brioche. Lots of clear photos and a sometimes overwhelming amount of information.

This is one of those rare books that everyone of all skill levels can find new things in. I’ve been knitting more than 40 years and brioche is an old friend but I still found new techniques and ideas to add to my repertoire and my student trying brioche for the first time also used this book with just a tiny nudge from me that she could have gotten from the website.
Brioche is a fun, rhythmic stitch that can be used in simple projects like scarves or can be used with stitch manipulations like increases, decreases, and cables to create stunning projects. Brioche fabric is delightfully squooshy, beautiful, and well behaved (does not curl).
There are, at the time of this review, two followup books on brioche by the same author.
