This is a great read!!
The Glass Inferno is one of two novels that were used for the basis of the Irwin Allen disaster flick The Towering Inferno. The other book was titled The Tower. I read both of them years ago and have to say that The Glass Inferno is the better of them. Better characters, better suspense and it has more 'heart' in it. Although this book is now dated as there's no cell phones, etc. in its pages, it still packs a wallop. I enjoyed re-reading it and am glad to have it in my collection after all of these years.

Shows the horrors of the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in NYC
Ryan Murphy and Co. changed things up in this season of AHS, cut down on the blood and gore and instead emphasized the horror of the growing AIDS epidemic in NYC during the early 80's. There is no Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange or Kathy Bates in this season and they are sorely missed. But the rest of the cast makes up for that with their roles (it's mostly made up of men).

Without Brideshead Revisited, there would be no Downton Abbey
I caught this beautiful adaption of Brideshead Revisited way back in the early '80's when it first aired on PBS. I don't think I saw all of the episodes because when I rewatched it I couldn't remember some of the things that were happening. Seeing it on bluray is a wonderful experience! The colors and scenery are magnificent! It's a treat to see it on a large flatscreen television with a bigger screen than the one I watched it on the first time in the '80's. There is not a false note in this entire production. The acting is superb, the scenery is beautiful and the photography is stunning! The story itself is wonderfully told. My take on it is that it shows how a religion embraced and loved by one uppercrust English family can ultimately be its downfall. Brideshead Revisited was the Downton Abbey of its time.
