Nikon CoolScan V becomes a new scanner with SilverFast 8. Dynamic range reaches up to try 4.0 with Multi-Exposure. The focus dialog in SIlverFast uniquely allows precise focussing. It is even possible to defous so precisely that you can get rid of film grain and keep all the image details. SilverFast iSRD gives you full control over dust and scratches and you can even save the infrared channel along with HDR (48bit) data and do the dust and scratch removal later on in SilverFast HDR application.

Nikon Coolscan LS50 is brilliant with SilverFast 8

The Nikon Coolscan becomes a brilliant scanner with SilverFast Ai Studio 8. The II8 calibration automatically calibrates the scanner. I was especially impressed by SilverFast's patented Multi-Exposure function which visibly enhances the Dynamic Range. The manual focus is uniquely giving control over the exact point of focus. iSRD is much more powerful than the old ICE, the dust and scratch removal function. With SilverFast the performance of the LS50 is close to the LS5000, a much more expensive scanner. More information can be found on the SilverFast developer's website

Charts not as good a Jeppesen charts but the price is just a fraction
