Marvelous updating of Reuben FIne's classic basic endgame knowledge.
It is no exaggeration to say that Basic Chess Endings was the first systematic textbook on this phase of the game. Reuben Fine chose standard positions of various types and in many cases gave useful rules for practical play. Pal Benko corrected or replaced some examples with more typical or more instructive ones.
One of the McKay Chess Library's very best update's and republication in the classic sense.
