Alternative design for twist free ice fishing

Got this to replace one of my better ice fishing set ups. Wanted to try a reel that would have the twist free feature of an inline reel with a traditional bait casting design. Works well for me with smooth adjustment of drag and backlash prevention features. The twist free design means your bait will not rotate once its dropped down resulting in a better, more realistic presentation with better jigging control. On my first trip up to Lake of the Woods this year I had a sturgeon on the line for 15-20 minutes on a 5lb line set up which is a good test of how the drag performs. The drag was steady and smooth and well up to the task until he worked himself off the small jig i was using for walleyes. Weight is more substantial than I would have guessed by appearances which gives it a solid feel. I have not put it on a scale, but if you are sensitive to balance on a rod or are looking for a very lightweight panfish set up, you may want to consider one of the more straightforward inline reels as a lighter alternative (e.g. a Black Betty).
