Engaging and Poignant--another win for Christopher Guest
Like "Spinal Tap" and "Best in Show", this is is a Christopher Guest production. With tongue-in-cheek, mock seriousness and genuine poignancy, the story is entertaining and frequently hilarious. I have just begun some genealogy, and the show also resonated from that perspective. Like my own journey, the main character wanders down various family lines, chasing clues as to his heritage. He frequently makes mistakes, and assumptions based on them, then finds out that the truth is very different. This movie is endearing and wonderful.
