Original design appeared good; did not consider breakability of the latches
Size was and still is useful. Small footprint on the counter for quick use. Lid and bowl easy to clean. Mistake with the design is how breakable the small section that slides into the latches in order to turn on the motor. When that chip of less than 1/2" breaks off, on both the front and back, the lid cannot be latched to operate the food processor. When I tried to turn it on after the last chip broke off, it took me a few minutes to realize what had happened. So then I went to EBAY to find someone who might have a intact lid to sell. And I found someone. The new lid works the way it is supposed to connect the lid and bowl to create a space for the motor to operate with th4e blade. Please pass this criticism to KitchenAid.
