Excellent Game! *See Precaution for Preschoolers Below
If you liked the movie - you will love this game! It's quite entertaining for the kids(and the whole family too! We've got two boys, aged 12 and 4 and they both love it! Only thing is, if you got a younger one that cannot read, they will need help with the "messages" on the cell phone. Yes.. it's quite up to date! The characters send text messages to you which consist of "mini-missions". There are lots of things to do - who knew what REALLY goes on in a barnyard!! Collect your Gopher Bucks and fill the nighttime barn with lots of goodies, games, food and even a dance floor!
*BEWARE parents of the youngest ones!* - My 4 1/2 year old was taken aback when one of the characters dies after fighting the coyotes (Ben) and gets buried on "Ben's Hill". This happens in one of the upper (final) levels of the game (well into it). The mission immediately following Ben's demise involves gathering the special flowers he enjoyed the most and placing them on his grave. So be prepared to have some dialog with your younger children here if they have questions or need to talk about what happened and and answer their questions according to your own teachings and beliefs. Nothing graphic occurs, so there won't be any surprises there. (Ben just falls over onto the ground.) The game makers handled it very well (no processions or religious type innuendo's are indicated what so ever in the game).
Overall, a wonderful game! Worth the money! Enjoy!

Shrek the Third (Wii)

Overall, the game suits all ages and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Reading skills aren't required for a youngster - so long as someone is around to assist with reading and relaying the initial control features.
The graphics are better quality than other character games we have seen. I believe all the voices are of the original cast. (Not the case in a lot of other games!) You don't play the as the same character in all levels. There are levels where you play as Fiona, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, Donkey and of course, Shrek.
It helps to look up a playing guide online so you can help the kids along with different tasks in the levels. It certainly helped me jumping in there and help out our 4 year old on a couple of occasions without me having the benefit of knowing exactly what to do (continuous jumps, etc.).
The only problem I had with this game is I have no idea how to add another controller for the multi-player mode. Still don't have a clue after trying everything I know prior to loading the game, tried adding it in the main menu... still can't manage it! So, it's lost on me!
A great game for Shrek fans of all ages! Enjoy!
