Not fully working device

I have purchased this camera a while back and briefly tested afterwards but didn’t get to shoot properly until recently. There’s number of things that don’t work: lcd screen light only works when placed against the camera body so you have only an option to shoot through the main viewer which is not great. The batteries do not seem to charge, luckily I hd some working ones from my old camera so I have used these. The HD/DV port doesn’t work and therefore you can’t transfer the footage from the camera onto FCP. Very disappointed.
