The Best
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I have used this and Bick leather cleaner on hand bags as old as the 1950s. It does an excellent job cleaning and restoring the look of the original leather. It does NOT leave any excess that might stain clothing. It is very good at removing scuffs and other minor
marks on the leather surface. It has not removed or affected the color of anything I have applied it to. I wouldn't use anything else. Please note: this will NOT work on suede.
If dirt is very ingrained on a worn smooth surface, products will not remove all of it. I use ink lifter to remove pen marks and other types of stains on smooth leather first. Also, rubbing alcohol sometimes works to remove stains from suede if they are not set.

In spite of the low price, this is a quality item. I have had several compliments on it since using it. I will buy more.

A Life Well Lived
"Reflexions" is Richard Olney's fascinating autobiography. Moving to France from the USA in the 1950s-60s, Mr Olney passionately followed his interests and became one of the most highly regarded experts in the international world of French wine and cuisine. He also studied painting with Tamayo at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, and continued to paint and exhibit throughout his lifetime.
He restored a ruined mas at Solies-Toucas in southern France over a period of more than 15 years, doing much of the work himself with occasional help from family and friends and injections of cash as he earned it. I love the clear and direct style in which this book is written, giving further insight into Mr. Olney's character and accomplishments. His superb menus and cooking techniques are scattered throughout the book. There are also extremely interesting descriptions of the lives and activities of major figures in the arts and world of cuisine, who were friends and acquaintances of Mr. Olney's, that you won't find elsewhere. It is also a picture of a vanished era.
Mr. Olney also wrote several cookbooks, which are much more than just that. "Simple French Food" is praised highly by everyone from Alice Waters to other cuisine luminaries. "The French Menu Cookbook" concentrates on wine pairings with ambitious menus.
I highly recommend these books. Even if you are not devoted to excellent cooking, they are
fascinating reads.
