Great assortment

A very useful assortment of values. Around 2/3 seem to be known brands. Clean and nicely bagged and labelled.

Great For the Price

Packaging and Assembly It was shipped in 2 boxes, one for the chair one for the ottoman. Packaging was overall good, with thin plywood on the inside of each box that protect it from getting crushed. The metal base had broken its styrofoam holder and put a very minor dent on the plywood of the backrest. Assembly was not too bad, but I saw no assembly instructions. If solo, budget an hour to assemble and clean up all the packaging. Small individuals may need a 2nd person to attach the back. Construction The Herman Miller original is said to have rubber "shock mounts" on the back portion of the chair that allow the chair to conform slightly to you. This chair only has fixed mounts. Like the original is not adjustable, you only get a swivel base. The chair seems sturdy however, and looks very true to the original design. Plywood Plywood has a very attractive grain, with good finishing. Accurate to pictures. A couple small blemishes if you look close. Upholstery This was advertised as having Italian leather, and while that might be the case, it is not especially supple. The leather surface is very uniform, which makes me suspect a synthetic or highly processed bonded leather. At the very least it seems durable and is not tacky like vinyl. The piping unfortunately seems to be vinyl. Foam padding is fairly firm but comfortable. This gave off a mild smell that has mostly dissipated after a month. Metal pieces: These look attractive, with well polished surfaces. The paint on the bottom legs and brackets seems to be relatively inexpensive, but this shouldn't be a problem in normal use. Overall For the price, quality of this chair is very good and it is comfortable. On the whole I am pleased with this purchase.
