modern microscopy concepts w simple explanation

Simply written microscopy book that covers many modern concepts that can still be applied to older equipment. Good ref for hobbiests and students. Many sample photos are in color and demonstrate the concepts well. Glossy coffee table quality. Very good addition to my library.

Nikon to Pentax K any good?

The adapter itself seems to be of good quality. There is some image quality loss converting a Nikon lens image circle to Pentax K. If you want the best quality out of your Nikon lens, use or buy a Nikon camera. If you can't do that, and are willing to sacrifice some image quality (it's noticeable on my opinion), then this adapter may be for you. I really don't want to buy more cameras so i'm willing to take the quality hit since I only intend to use a few speciality Nikon lenses only occadionally. I'm glad the product exists. Keep in mind there is no free lunch.

k-01 : nice camera for pentax users who don't want mirror vibration

I have a modified k1 body for near IR visible and near UV. i use it for micro/telescope use. I had a little diffuculty using it for regular snapshots because of color balance issues so i ordered an unmodified k1. The unit works great. I am thinking i probably want to use this new one for my microscope when i don't want any UV or IR spilling in. The advantage of using the K-01 for micro/telescope work is that there is no mirror vibration as i had with my other pentax cameras. I would recommend the k01 to anyone with a boatload of pentax lenses.
