Andre Kertesz:Sixty Years of Photography
This has as nice a selection of Kertesz's work as is available and the images are reproduced in lush duotone. A quality book in cloth with dustjacket and far more reasonable than the 1987 Diary of Light.

Walker Evans First & Last
This is one of the nicest books for looking at the range of work by Walker Evans. I purchased it when it was first published and nearly wore it out. When I found another copy I acquired it and put the first on the shelves in my office as a 'student loaner copy'. It has his most memorable images and some which are not seen elsewhere. Published in the 1980's it was well printed, the images look lush. Until some of the exhibition catalogues from retrospectives in the 1990's and into this century, this is my book of choice.

perfect title for a fitting book.
This book was purchased for a friend who loves golf. Having never heard of this author or title from 1882 it was a perfect choice. And had proven to be a highly enjoyable read from centuries ago.
