Well made book, easily readable, and a very well told story from Chinese history.

Excellent telling of the Battle for Malta
memoirs from historical moments are my favorite genre...

A good travel read of yesteryear for a largely inaccessible country now.
Worked in Afghanistan for years & had this title on my radar for ages. Always too expensive in hardcover format. Finally saw this heavily-discounted copy touting "water damage"... arrived quickly and, though not new by any means, is still in great condition. Only the dust jacket has any indications of water damage.
A decent 1st person travel journal from 1950's Afghanistan.
