Great book-- will wear out fast though from repeated readings.
You will read this repeatedly. I am still reading this masterpiece my first time through. The physical quality of the book itself is low-- I want a leatherbound copy' one should be available and on everyone's bookshelf. If you're an historian-- American, Civil War, Old West, and love seeing the nuts and bolts of what makes human history develop and move rather than just memorizing names and dates in some kind of chronology-- this book is for you.

Excellent little DVD player! Go with Sony!
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I bought this to take the wear and tear off of playing DVDs on my high quality, ten-year-old Magnavox VCR to DVD burner after my old stand-alone DVD player died.
This one is an excellent deal for the price! You can't go wrong with Sony. It has features even my high priced model doesn't, but there are of course some that this one doesn't have.
If you want a good, basic DVD player, with a solid remote, that's a breeze to set up if you have the open RCA plugs on your TV or another device that feeds into your TV, do yourself a favor and get one of these. I'm almost tempted to buy another one and keep it in the box since I have so many excellent movies on DVD but the players seem to be getting harder to find with streaming, I guess. I still have 8 track tapes and nothing to play them on.

If you don't know Lynn Margulis, you don't know evolution.
I've read this book many times. My copy is pretty beat up. Someone borrowed my other copy and never returned it. This is an important book about evolution. I was willing to pay a premium price to have a "brand new" copy of the hardback version of the revolutionary book written by the late, great Lynn Margulis' and Dorion Sagan that came out in 1986. This book fits that bill. I'll keep this one new and read the paperback till it falls apart.
