Mid range zoom with Image Stabilization.
17 von 19 finden das hilfreich This is the first SLR zoom lens that featured image stabilization. The stabilizing lens group powered by a pair of gyros improves hand holdibility by quite a bit. The image stabilization provides about 2 full stops of shutter speed. This is extremely useful if you don't want to carry a tripod.
This lens extends in length during zooming, being shortest at 28mm and reaching maximum length at 135mm. The front element does not rotate during focus, making this lens friendly to polarizer use. Distortion is very low varying between slight barrel distortion at the wide end and slight pincushion at the long end.
Overall a very good performer with no real distinctive characteristics. It's just a good lens that does a good job in a variety of conditions.

My second iPhone...
2 von 3 finden das hilfreich This is my second iPhone. I just replaced my original iPhone with this 3GS model.
This is still the smartphone that works! I have tried other smartphones and most if not all pale in comparison. The iPhone just flat works. The different applications work like they should, simple, quick, no learning curve. Spend about 10 minutes fumbling around the interface and you'll practically be a pro.
The biggest change I see in this phone is the back is now plastic. The plastic probably improves reception (the old one needed some help in this area) and it probably also helps the GPS. I don't mind the new back, it feels good in my hands, is a bit thinner, and the contour makes it easier to hold. Although it doesn't look as good as the old back, it still looks pretty darn good. The phone still has a nice quality feel to it. The screen is still the star of the show, and as far as I can tell, it hasn't changed.
The phone seems to have improved a bit, I find it easier to hear, the reception seems a improved, and the speaker seems a bit louder. The Candy Bar isn't the best design if you ask me(I'm partial to flip phones)but it's the best way to implement this type of interface. The screen still gets greasy, but with this new model they have done something to the screen and it wipes clean much easier than the old model did.
Was the upgrade worth it? I don't know. It launches apps faster(although it's not super noticeable unless you do a direct side by side), it has a true GPS(it does find my position quicker, but it's not that much better than the old way), it has a compass(cool...but really...), voice control(I've never used it), more mp camera(just for quick snaps, nothing serious). The changes in the OS are certainly welcome, but those are available to all iPhone users. The battery life seems a bit less than the original too. I like a lot about the new phone, but the changes are evolutionary and not revolutionary.
Like I said in my first review, there is no way I though I would ever own an iPhone. Now I am on to my second one, and have a hard time with things when I manage to forget it.
