Does a good job!
item works well. I wasn't sure at first b/c I kept getting a funny smell. I guess that's just the way a distiller smells. the charcoal filter bag in the spout where the distilled water comes out isn't that great, but I removed it and the little rubber/plastic tube b/c someone was complaining about having plastic in the system. But, that's no concern, there is no difference with or without the 2 inch little tube where the distilled water comes out, it's a small piece that has a bend in it to divert the water into the decanter. It'll work without it but you need to tilt the decanter a bit towards the unit, so it doesn't drip outside the decanter. I reattached it b/c it's no problem. I always seemed to have a slight metallic taste, so now once it's finished, it pour it through a pur water pitcher and the charcoal filter in it removes any of that and it's nice and clean. Overall for the price, it does a good job. It's a Chinese made machine, but it distills water like it should. Run a couple cycles through it and maybe run some vinegar n water mix through it once, so you will know that any factor oils or gunk is completely gone. I usually pour some white vinegar in to to cover the bottom thoroughly and spray the walls, then let it set for about 15min and maybe gently scrub the debris left behind from distilling, if the vinegar doesn't completely remove it, then rinse it with water and it's ready to go again. They recommend doing that about once a month, but I do it maybe once a week, depending on how much I use it.

Very Good Purifier..
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Works well. You do smell the new burning off of it for a few days. Run it outside for a few hrs on high, with the UV on and that will help a lot. You may not notice it, but if you do, this is normal. The first one I bought did the same thing, then after a few days maybe less, I never noticed it again. The factory carbon filter is somewhat thin. I bought some Veva aftermarket prefilters for the AC4825 I have and they are very good! I took one of those and added it to the 5000. Adds more prefilter and more carbon for odors, works well that way. you can buy carbon sheets that you can cut to fit, if you you want. Noise on low is very quiet, medium is very good too. High is a bit noisy, but not in a bad way and doesn't bother me. If I'm not in the room, i usually leave it on high, but also run it on medium a lot and hardly ever use the low setting. I prefer the noise. Light is bright from the UV at night, which is cool. If it's too bright at nite, simply turn it off. I'm sure there is a way to unhook it if you really wanted to, without turning off the UV bulb. I believe they are separate bulbs, Not 100% positive They also tend to blow more air out one side of the grill. This is normal and I like it. For the price it is a nice deal.
