Big Parrot Proof Ware
He used to clang the metal ones and drive us crazy and would throw the ceramic ones on the floor and smash and break them and they are too expensive to replace. Plastic does the job: No noise and when he finally got hold of one and flung it on the floor he actually looked perplexed and disappointed that it did not smash to pieces. Go plastic. they are also nice colors and also look good.

Results--experienced 30 year gardener with green thumb in Florida
One cutting took and after about 30 days grew like a weed and has doubled its size adding two new links but the other cutting placed in an adjacent 12 inch plastic pot under identical conditions did nothing ---finally turned a brown-opaque color and rotted through the center, skin peeled off and never sent out roots or new links. I have cut the few remaining 1-2 inch good parts off the sick cutting into smaller segments and re potted them but so far after three weeks they have neither grown nor died..jury is out on the surviving pieces.
