Tool for the job but overpriced
The DID Chain Cutter and Riveter is really well built, very easy to use and works really well. It is built to last and comes in a metal case which is handy for keeping the parts together.
This tool is clearly built to last and quality engineering. I'm confident I'll never need to buy another. The only questionable part is the rivet extractor pin. This is potentially liable to bend if user is not careful. This is not a criticism of the tool, the pin is necessarily thin - but it is tough and should be fine if used properly with care. The good thing is you can purchase the parts separately so a pin can be replaced if necessary,
There are other tools on ebay etc that look like exact copies - but half the price. whether the copies are just as good or inferior I don't know.
As good as the DID tool is, it is in my opinion over-priced. But what you do get is assurance of a robust, precise, quality product.
