Well written and amazingly performed, this CD is a must for all Xena fans.

While the idea of making a musical out of Xena: Warrior Princess may at first sound strange, there's actually a lot to be impressed by on this CD. The disc features nearly all cast vocals (including Lucy Lawless, Kevin Smith and Ted Raimi). Unfortunately, though, the vocals for Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) and Callisto (Hudson Leick) are not sung by the actors. Nevertheless, every song on the disc is well put together and sounds magnificent with wonderful performances by both actors and other vocalists, capturing every emotion from the deep storyline of the episode that brought to the surface the turbulent events of the third season. The songs nearly run the whole length of the actual episode, so not a note is left out. The inspiring and poignant lyrics of Joseph LoDuca (et al) directly reflect the conflict of the story, making the songs meaningful and worth listening to closely. For any fan of the series, this CD is more than worth having to hear the songs of Xena's and Gabrielle's epic overcoming of their hatred, and forgiveness of each other. Excellent performances from the laughable "Joxer the Mighty" to the emotion-filled "Hearts are Hurting" and "The Love of Your Love" make it worth every penny and every second spent listening to it, and is a perfect way to revisit one of the most critical moments in Gabrielle's and Xena's relationship throughout the series.
