This fantastic book gives the reader of the Aubrey/Maturin series a complete sense of the third main character in the series- the Frigate Surprise.

Book was delivered in great condition. Price was right at about 1/5 -1/4 the cost for the same exact book offered on other sites, even bargain offerings. The book itself is a must have for fans of Patrick O'Brien's "Aubrey/Maturin" series of historical naval adventures. Chock full of neat facts about both the real life frigate H.M.S. Surprise and its fictional counterparts. In addition, there is a huge collection of paintings, sketches, and draught plans. A great reference companion to a great series of books. I highly recommend it.
