Inside Interior Door Handle Chrome Driver Side Left LH for BMW 5 & 7 Series

Well made, but with an unusable bushing.

So this review may seem a little confusing, bear with me. The product seemed to be of good quality on first inspection. It felt solid and heavy and the plastic seemed well molded. I did think right away that the sheen was noticeably flatter than the original factory piece. When I installed the part (pain in the butt) I noticed that the grommet where the latch cable attaches to the handle was made of soft rubber. On the original part the grommet is harder plastic. This ended up being the deal breaker. After I got everything put back together I tried to use the door handle. After only one pull it felt wrong and wouldn't retract the handle all the way. I had to completely remove the entire door panel again and swap the grommet off the old handle onto the new handle. This made the whole thing work, but the old grommet is on its last leg and I don't expect this arrangement to last for long. I can't recommend this product unless you have an original grommet you can reuse. Its too bad because the part seems well made otherwise. The last nail in the coffin is that after buying this item I found out the part from the O.E. supplier is available for about 5$ more with a lifetime warranty. Hope this helps someone, or that the manufacturer sees this and includes a better grommet in the future.
