I installed the chips this morning, and computer booted just fine after a little scare caused by Windows that decided to install an update during reboot. That made the boot take longer. Thank you!

Although the floppy drive disk head was bad (as I suspected), the purchase was what I wanted. Many of the chips on the circuit board for the floppy drive are needed to repair VIC-20 computers, so scrapping the drive was not an issue at all (disk drive heads can not be repaired). I needed the chips inside. I haven't fully tested the numeric keypad and the Koala Pad as of yet. The tape drive works fine. I'm happy!
