Cheap but somewhat unreliable.
$4 per port is amazing. However this is the 4th try for this product, with the other 3 being returned with issues. Each of the 3 previous items, t 1 or more ports refused to connect at 1gb and resorted to 100mb. There is a price to pay in reliability. I also note that existing cables in my collection will not work at 1gb, whereas they work perfectly at gigabit using a netgear and other 8-port dlink switches.
All my devices now work, but your mileage may vary.

Cheap, nasty and doesn't work to specification.
Won't extend USB 3.1 Gen 2 50cm Thunderbolt. Entire length within the 1m specification. Won't even extend a headset and mic.
