Murder During An Eclipse!!
This episode begins with a complete lunar eclipse, and even the hard-working detectives Barnaby and DS Jones are seen to be enjoying the moment! However, murder is never far away and during the phenomenon someone is killed. As is normal in these parts, this is just the beginning of a chain of gruesome events and there are twists and turns galore. There are plenty of famous faces to be seen, including the lovely Claire Cailbraith(Heartbeat, Home Fires etc), who plays the owner of a teashop and widow of one of the victims. Also here is Maureen Lipman as a dodgy columnist in the local paper. There is plenty to enjoy here and yet another cracking case in the long-running Midsomer series. Excellent!

Memorable Midsomr Series
The Thirteenth series of Midsomer Murders is special in that it proved to be John Nettles' final season as DCI Tom Barnaby. In appropriate style, this series includes some excellent cases, and his final case - 'Fit For Murder' - is one of these. But, from the eight episodes within this set, at least six of them are memorable. Poor old Joyce Barnaby is the centre of attention in 'The Silent Land' when she thinks that she's caused the death of a man - but other, darker things are at work here including the creepy-looking Danny Webb, dressed in a flowing cape, leading ghost tours! There are plenty of well known faces to be seen here, including Jason Durr(Heartbeat), Michael Maloney and Tim McInnerny. The 'Sword of Guillaume' is particularly gruesome as a sword-wielding murderer is on the loose - one of his victims being found on the Ghost Train! That episode also sees the debut of John Barnaby(Neil Dudgeon), who is the resident DCI in Brighton. All in all, this is certainly a brilliant series and not to be missed!

Classic Midsomer Whodunnit
This episode is one of the early cases featuring Neil Dudgeon as DCI John Barnaby and the loyal DS Jones. This episode includes plenty of intrigue and death, a lot of it centred around the unfortunate Jo Starling(Sarah Smart), who's housemate is found murdered in the bath! This is only the start of the nightmare for Jo, who is also being watched by the shifty-looking hardware store owner(and her landlord)Bernard Flack(Ron Cook). The friendly local vet, Fran Carter(Daisy Haggard), helps her friend, but herself ends up dead later on. A donkey sanctuary run by former Darling Buds actress Pam Ferris is a centre of inquiries, whilst Jones bumps into a former colleague - the unsavoury character Matt Rowntree and his wife, who appears to offer much more than just beer in the local pub! Jones is also thrown by the strange garage attendant, Malcolm Merryman, who attracts Jones' attention early in the case. This is a really good case and one of Dudgeon's best efforts. There are some excellent characters here, and the murders really seem to have Barnaby stumped. Well worth watching!!
