Teaching Shiritori by example
This book teaches theme based shiritori by example. Kids can learn theme based vocabulary while reading hiragana only. Ah shiritori is the game ends with starts with, so if a word ends with a, the next would start with a. I used it in my science classes as a themed vocabulary linking drill. It’s fairly effective and kids enjoy it.

Great for babies
I got this for my infant. The pages are colorful and sturdy. The fact that they have a surface for dry-erase helps for wiping off hand prints and drool too. As for content, kids learn more about Pokémon and writing as they progress through the book. I hope to find more like this one.

Great diagrams and easy instructions
So not only does this book have clear sizing charts and pattern diagrams, it also shows basic stitching techniques, how to wear the obi in different styles, and what undergarments are needed for the yukata.
There are no pattern papers, so you will need to draw and measure out on the fabric with chalk. But the design is super simple, so it should be a cinch.
The book is made with pretty thick paper, so while it is a paperback book, it’s pretty sturdy.
For Japanese Language learners, the writing is simple and when paired with the exceptional diagrams, you will have no problems with this book here. It’s written probably at a middle school level.
I look forward to making jimbei and yukata for my son this year. Kansas is hot.
