Great Sound, Great Looks. A Classic Amplifier.
I bought a Cambridge Audio P50 MkII (1971/2) for spares/repairs earlier this year. It had a fault causing the left channel to be very quiet. Thinking it might be a connection problem, I turned it over to re solder and... Caused a dry joint to come loose. After around a week of staring at the circuit diagram and taking measurements with a multimeter I found the problem I had created as well as the original problem. A capacitor had gone open circuit on the left channel. Understandable for 47/48 years of hard work! After replacing the bad capacitor I decided to completely replace all of the capacitors in the amp and... It sounds brilliant! It's extremely simply designed inside and very easy to work on. An amp that'll keep going for another 48 years yet! (Currently paired with an Arcam DV135 and (1983) Castle Pembroke "Bookshelf" speakers).

Great Sound, Great Engineering
Amplifier is in full working order and outputs a lovely sound through my Castle Pembroke speakers. The front face of the amplifier has a simple design but contains everything you will generally need (balancing, bass boost, treble boost etc). The volume knob is especially satisfying. Would recommend. When pushed to max rms power per channel (50W at 8 Ohms) my speakers do emit a slight crackling but I honestly wouldn't ever put it that high (again) unless I want to permanently deafen myself.
