Very special music by a short lived giant!

Junior Parker was a short lived "all time great". This is as special as his Sun Material though a tad more refined. Nice punchy mono sound.

ROBERT TANNER, THE EQUAL OF ANY SOUL MAN WHO EVER LIVED!!!

This CD is generously filled with 25 tracks. Some Ebay dealers are scalping it, I waited and it was worth the 16 u.s. dollars I paid. ROBERT TANNER, the lead singer of the New Sounds is a Soul Man who is as talented as any one who has ever lived. "Don't Take Your Love From Me" is music that is as GOOD AS MUSIC can be. Willie @ West are compelling as well, "Get Away From Me Girl " promoted properly would have been top 10 on the pop charts! The studios used by these fine bands were no where near as good as Stax or where Willie Mitchell worked his magic. The sound is a bit coarse, but it does not distract very much.

AS GOOD AS MUSIC CAN BE!!!

The writing is awesome, the playing and orchestration wonderful, and Freddy Briggs is a William Bell Class Singer. I have no idea if the incredibly vulgar original cover art forced this transcendentally great music into the underground or not. There are several selections that should have been hits on singles. Mr. Briggs clearly liked Jim Webb's MacArthurs Park, it's influence inspired him to create "Jefferson Park", a profound lament! If you love 70's Soul Music and do not have FREDDY BRIGGS-LOST SOUL you have a BIG HOLE in your collection!
