Asus eee 701 4G
Small and compact, the Asus is ideal to transport - weighs less than a kilo. The size of the keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, but the "tap to click" touch pad is handy.
It starts quickly and comes with a lot of software, and has a web cam.
It cost me 177 pounds on ebay - can't be bad!
After 6 months use:
The main advantage is that it is compact - I use it all the time. The battery is starting to need recharging more often but I may get a spare which is something I would recommend as it saves having to find a power point. The keyboard is still a bit problematic with missed keystrokes and the touch pad is still a bit sensitive for scrolling. However I really like the Asus and use it n preference to my desktop, except for graphics and photos.
