helicoil kit
The plastic insertion sleeve cross threaded on the 6th insert. I made one out of steel that worked OK.

swap transaxle on Scotts 2554
The transaxle was new and well packaged. I feel it was a very good buy for a new unit.
The exchange required changing out the control levers and oil reservoir. about 1 and 1/4 inch had to be cut from the inside of the hubs to compensate for the longer casting. It went to work without a hitch and is working perfectly.
