When all else fails replace

Albeit that this is an exact replacement for a motherboard that I screwed up, it was still cheaper than buying a replacement. It worked, I know many more wouldn't choose this route as the WT7-C is rather limited with only a 16GB drive. This limitation shows when attempting to upgrade to Windows 10's more recent versions. My suggestion is not to lose those original 'factory settings' and make the upgrade, if possible, from there. The experiment of replacing the entire motherboard works and I would recommend the procedure to anyone else who so foolishly wipes the entire disk. Note that for Windows 8.1 the 'free upgrade' to Windows 10 deadline has passed and that the upgrade would have to be purchased. Take the time to reflect on how to do the upgrade so that the upgrade can be reverse. The problem with 16GB is that there is little space left for an unrolling to the pervious operating system.

Works!

The coupler and the lead to the dc psu linked and slid into the battery compartment without problem. The dc cable cover on the camera made way for the cable and the door clipped shut without impediment. The dc psu connected to the mains through a separate cable which for a Canon parts supplier surprisingly was supplied with a British mains plug for me. All in place, all on the camera was flicked into on. No problems discerned, the display came up without any contra-indications.
