Perfect to understand design of the 2008 Mini Cooper.
The Haynes Repair Manual is perfect for me to understand the design of my 2008 Mini Cooper. It is helpful for me when researching how the Cooper operates because I like to maintain the Cooper's good performance (and I need to know the proper terminology to communicate with my brother who is a wizard mechanic). I diagnosed symptoms for the check engine light error I received, DTC P0012 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1 ) and determined possible solutions and order of priority. Earlier this month, I referred to the Haynes when I flushed my engine, changed the oil filter and oil. After the repair, I retested with the OBD2 scan reader and confirmed no error code...I rule the world! When/if the DTC P0012 comes back on, I'm ready to clean the Vanos Solenoid (Intake) and replace if needed. No worries.
