Spiritually stimulating
Leath's approach to theology as spirituality is a refreshing way to encounter God. For me, it achieved the goal of the book's title: Experiencing God. It does require focus and intentionality in reading. Not intended for light reading, but for time alone reflecting on truths about God and one's relationship with God. Recommended for those willing to take time with the reading and pondering an interactive approach to Christian theology.

Worth the read. Prepare to be challenged.
I bought this book because I recently read Mick Yankoski's new book, The Sacred Year, and liked his thought and his writing so well I wanted to read other things he has written. After reading his latest, I can see that this book is an apt precursor. The writing is solid, the experiences recounted are vivid, and the spirit of the adventure is compelling. Because I was comparing this book to The Sacred Year, which blew me away, I found this one less satisfying, but the author was several years younger and the focus of this book is much more limited than the latest book. It is a worthwhile read, and I would buy it again, but if you resonate with this book, I believe you will find The Sacred Year a monumental step up.
