Budget builds - 👍
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Setup: 4 gauge (closer to 6 gauge) Maxxsonics amp kit, 2 volt preamp signal level, single low end JVC 12" sub in a sealed enclosure.
This is a budget-friendly (I paid 37 bucks for an open box unit) amp that would be a good choice for driving an entry level 10" or 12" 4- ohm subwoofer. It is pretty standard for a 2 channel amp these days. Has 4 gauge power inputs and terminals are at a slight angle to help make it easier to connect to. Single 40a fuse. My best guess, it probably outputs around 200 to 250 watts in bridged mode.
Big plus - had both a 6db and 12db per octave bass boost selection. I believe it is set to 45hz. This feature alone makes it a better choice over the Alpine 2 channel that it replaced. Alpine always underrated....Maxxsonics stuff for the most part is overrated. It looks good and works well without heating up too much.
Recommended for budget system builders!

Budget sub can't be beat
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Give these subs the proper box, about 150 rms watts a piece, you will get more than you bargained for. Recommend a sealed box at manufacturer spec. Clean and tight bass with the ability to go all-out if you want to occassionally.

Budget System Builders - 👍
I've have been designing and building low-end, budget friendly systems for years. My reviews are based upon the quality vs price of a component.
This 12" subwoofer is certainly JVC's entry level offering. Keeping the rms power between 150 and 250 watts, in the proper enclosure, with low pass filter and gain properly set here is my rating:
Build quality = 4 of 5 (spade terminal connections loses one star)
Aesthetics = 5 of 5 (looks great)
Sound quality = 4 of 5 (suspension on the stiff side making it sound punchier and less smooth than some other entry level subs)
Value = 5 of 5 (only 35 bucks shipped)
Highly recommended buy for the budget guy.
Single sub tested and reviewed based on a sealed box matching manufacturer specifications. I don't use vented enclosures...
