Radio, iDrive inoperable- Battery drains

the symptoms of 530xi were the inoperability of radio, iDrive display gone, and persistent battery drain. Online / Youtube video steered me toward this product. this product supports many models and variants of BMW. i got conflicting information from BMW “agents”, some suggesting that it needed programming to be effective. I was ecstatic that this unit apparently came preprogrammed with basic functionality, and solved all of my concerns. “knock on wood”, the car is operating fine- radio, display, power monitoring and control, etc. BTW, in my car this unit was mounted [foolishly, in my opinion] under the spare donut tire (where gravity might collect water)... i physically repositioned / remounted it to the drivers’ side panel. youtubers helped me there too!

i was thrilled that so many of these panels had survived, and that so many people were inclined to share installation info ... the only way i could have afforded (one of the most comfortable cars i have ever driven) is because my mother died! it might have been a Pantera... but I had eight other siblings! thanks for the instructions, and the videos
